a tradition with a twist
Jonathan has been spreading good luck for brides and grooms since 1990. He is often booked by the happy couple, their parents, or friends as a surprise on the big day.
Jonathan arrives with his sooty face, quietly singing to himself until he notices an audience.
On seeing the happy couple, he will serenade them, his baritone voice tunefully singing snippets of songs from My Fair Lady and Mary Poppins. Jonathan wishes them good luck, encouraging the groom to relax and dance a little.
It's fun and a great distraction, with an old-world vintage style.
Jonathan, The Lucky Sweep can attend your wedding at the church, just after the ceremony.
He can also visit you at the wedding reception before the meal. This option is handy if it is raining and you don’t want to stand in the rain. At speech time, Jonathan can help a shy bride or groom by reading aloud their speeches on their behalf!
Entertainment! It certainly is, and of course, some excellent luck!
Something old and something new
Jonathan is happy to pose for photographs with the happy couple and their guests.
To share his luck, Jonathan always shakes hands with the Groom, blows a kiss for the Bride to catch, and brings some shiny Welsh coal as well as a gift for the happy couple.
Handy tips
Carry an umbrella for potential bad weather.
Tell your photographer to expect a sweep, so he is camera ready!
A perfect ice-breaker during the reception meal. It really took the pressure off me while I prepared for my speech. - Jo Bridges
